Anneke Beerten update from Mont Sainte Anne

Massive congrats to Anneke, a regular in the commentary box for Freecaster, on the World Cup title.  Here's what she had to say on the matter -

"For many years I've been coming to Mont Sainte Anne, Canada, to race world cup races. I always love coming to this place, in 1998 I raced my first Junior Downhill World Championships here!

This weekend I knew if I could pull off a win, I would also secure the Overall World Cup title. But I tried not to think about that too much and just to stay focussed on this race and riding the track.

This is one of my favorite tracks, big rock garden, big jumps and a steepish first straight. I felt so good on my Trek Ticket 4-cross bike, and had so much fun in practice that it was hard for me not to do that many runs!

I managed to win the Qualification, semi final and in the final I was quite nervous in the gate but I had a great start and was able to pull away from the rest of the girls by jumping the pro section! Such an awesome run! Great weekend of racing and with this world cup win I also won the overall world cup title!!

We have one more World Cup to go in Val di Sole, Italy, and after that the World Championships in Switzerland next month. So the next couple of weeks all the training and fine tuning will be for those 2 races!! For more info and to stay up to date please check: www.annekebeerten.com See you all at the races......keep on riding."

Thanks,

Anneke
