Peaty fractures arm in Leogang.

If stories of Sean Bean going for beer after being stabbed weren’t enough to persuade you that those from Sheffield are solid, it turns out that World Champ Steve Peat (Santa Cruz Syndicate) raced the World Cup in Leogang, Austria, with a fractured ulna (it’s one of the two forearm bones if you don’t know).

Having crashed in training Peaty awoke to a swollen hand on the day of the finals and despite being unsure if he'd be able to hold on to his bars, decided to race anyway and it didn’t seem to bother him too much.

After a speedy start, Peaty was in the lead at the first and second splits but on the last part of the course the injury seemed to take it’s toil and he finished 12th.

We’re waiting on news from the big man as to what the diagnosis is, but with Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada in the next couple of weeks there is no doubt that he’ll be wanting to be on his bike, doing what he does best.
