Kabuto, the Japanese makers of premium helmets and accessories, and Freecaster.tv, the exclusive live webcasters of the UCI MTB World Cup, have joined forces to create the first ever speed trap contest during the downhill races this season.
The Kabuto Speed Trap will record each rider’s top speed on a particular section of the course. Speeds from each round will be cumulated as the season progresses, and the rider with the highest score after the final round in Val di Sole will be crowned the Winner, taking home a cash prize of 1000 EUR.
Kabuto helmets are also the official partner of the Santa Cruz Course Ride this season... providing Rob Warner with an IXA Carbon Helmet to hit every downhill track of the World Cup and provide commentary. Freecaster have custom sprayed Mr Warner’s IXA Carbon to match his inimitable personality, so watch out for the loudest man in mountain biking wearing the loudest helmet ever!
